The Haarlem Mercenaries
Captain James Anzuelo
A shipwrecked Pirate in search for his lost wife and a new ship.
Captain James Anzuelo is just the moniker he goes by these days. Before his pirating days he was known as Killian Jones, a simple fisherman with a wife and a son. Loved by all in the little sea-side village until that dreadful day the pirate raid came.
Left for dead Killian woke up with his village burning and everyone he knew dead or taken away. He searched for hours until he reached the shore where he found the decapitated body of his son (his lifeless head rolling in the tide) between more bodies of the villagers. As he watched this barbaric scene something in his head snapped and he became disconnected to the world driven only by vengeance and hate. Leaving the village behind, burning and is ashes, he took what he could carry and set out to kill the pirate who had taken everything from him. Captain Connor Kenway.
He took a new name so that his attacker wouldn’t know who was chasing him, James Anzuelo. And as his search (and destruction) continued, days turned into weeks which turn into months. And finally after years of searching, hunting and gathering his own pirate crew he finally got his revenge by killing Kenway. But not before finding out his wife was sold as a slave to foreign traders. Distraught at these new findings Kenway, mortally wounded by now, saw an opening for one last desperate action, to blow up his own ship to try and take out his attackers.
Face down in the water Killian once again lost everything. His ship, his crew, his reason to live. But the old gods had more in store for this rather successful new pirate captain. He awakes on the shores of Tilea, a strange and far away land. Maybe not all is lost. Maybe he can still find that which he treasures most
